Predoctoral and Postdoctoral Positions

Postdoctoral and predoctoral positions are available for "Biodynamics at Boston University," a Research and Training Grant funded by the NSF. The RTG group is associated with the Center for Biodynamics (CBD). Research themes of the RTG focus on analysis of systems with multiple time scales, applications of dynamical systems to neuroscience, and applications of dynamical systems to genetic regulatory networks.

The CBD is connected to many departments and other research centers at Boston University, providing a stimulating research environment. The senior faculty members of this group are from Mathematics (Uri Eden, Tasso Kaper, Eric Kolaczyk, Nancy Kopell (PI), and Gene Wayne) and Biomedical Engineering (Jim Collins (PI), Daniel Segrè, and Kamal Sen). Other associated senior faculty members are John Baillieul (Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering), Paul Barbone, Mike Hasselmo (Psychology), and Sidney Redner (Physics). For information about collaborative activities of this group, please see our research page.

Interested postdoctoral and predoctoral candidates should send a CV, 3 letters of recommendation, and a cover letter stating the reasons you are appropriate for this group. Interested Ph.D candidates should apply to one of the associated departments and mention interest in the CBD and this RTG grant. Applications will be reviewed starting from Dec. 1, 2009.

Applicants must be US citizens or resident aliens. Successful postdoctoral candidates will teach one course per semester, including opportunities to design and/or teach new interdisciplinary curricula.
